IMG_3174 Hi Everyone I hope you had a great weekend.  As I had announced on Instagram last week, I am super excited to share that two of my images have been included in the Typewriter Notecards.  The typewriter notes is a box set of 20 different blank cards capturing the timeless appeal of the typewriter.  Curated and designed by Janine Vangool from Uppercase Magazine and published by Chronicle Books, these cards feature photographs submitted by Uppercase Magazine readers.  If you would like to order a set for yourself, you can go HERE to order.

TypewritersHere are some of my contenders:

Here's the first image that made it:

And one of my favourites that made it also ........ I shot this image with my Polaroid SX Land Camera about 25 years ago when I first started photography.  I used a technique called "Polaroid Manipulation" in order to get that effect.  So this one means a lot to me and I'm ecstatic that it will finally get some exposure in which is so deserves.  Feel free to contact me if you're interested in seeing more of my artwork.

And the winner is ........

Good morning everyone! I am just announcing the winner of Carol's contest over at The Design Pages for the Polaroid Artwork. Thank you to everyone that took the time to comment on why my husband should let me keep my corbels and any storage solution ideas for them. As I was reading them out, my "husband" started to laugh and told me that he hated to be called "hubby" and if I could please just call him "husband"..... sure, okay ... fair enough. So after reading all of your great reasons and ideas, we've decided to pick: We just loved how Laura described .... IN CRAZY DETAIL, how I should store my corbels, which my HUSBAND would like to try, I will post a pic when I have more in stock to show how well it works. Thank you Laura and again, thank you everyone else for taking the time to comment.

ps ... The birthday card I got from my husband yesterday read "I am proud of your successes AND even your corbels" :)

A Sweet Art Trade

How was everybody's weekend? For those in Vancouver, wasn't the sunshine beautiful? I'm glad to welcome May flowers and say goodbye to April showers. A few months ago I met a wonderful and talented illustrator/graphic artist through blogging. She was one of the entries for my Polaroid art giveaway and her name is Jacqueline Hudon-Verrelli. After looking at her amazing talent on her blog "chubby broccoli" I ended up contacting her in hopes of doing an art trade. I was ecstatic when she said she was into it. For the trade: Jacqueline choose a Polaroid picture I did of the steam clock in Gastown, here in Vancouver:

... And I was curious to see what a family portrait of of my hubby, our dog Griffon and myself would turn out like and couldn't wait to see what she came up with.

A few days later, a package arrived..........

It was like Christmas all over again ..............

She captured us with her quirky drawing, perfectly. Now I just have to find the perfect frame. Thank you Jacqueline !!! It was such a pleasure to have met you.
