18KARAT

Happy new week! My apologies for not doing a post last week, things have been a little delirious around here with work and the fact that it's summer certainly plays a part. I thought I would share some snaps I did for 18KARAT while shooting their latest catalogue. A big part of my job is taking pictures of beautiful spaces and pretty little details .... (Lucky me) Most times I have very talented people working with me in order to make the scene a beautiful one. In this case, I have Zoe & Jeannine to thank, two very talented girls who worked tirelessly to get the job done. Every time I looked up, they had another pretty scene set up for me to shoot, I was like a kid in a candy store ready to snap away.

Erica Cook's House featured in Style At Home Magazine

I had such a great time on my trip to Calgary to shoot my good friend, Erica Cook's house. I met up with Erin Mclaughlin from Style At Home magazine , what a pleasure it was to finally meet and work with her. She's a sweetheart and I have to say that Erica was the most gracious and patient hostess ..... we tore up her house to get our shots, but boy, I am so pleased with what we got. Thank you Erica for everything, your boys are the sweetest ever !!! If you haven't already, go pick up a copy of the latest issue, it won't disappoint. Oh and check out Erin's house too, she's in there also. Here are some out takes of our shoot: Erica cook Tracey Ayton Photography

A ruff time.

With a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that Griffon, my just shy of 11 year old dog passed away last weekend.   It's been a very tough few days, trying to get over the fact that he's not clomping around the house or lying by the fireplace beside us.  He will forever be in our hearts and I want to thank you for all of your well wishes, it means a lot. On the flip side, work was beckoning and yes, I had to post pone some shoots in order to get my head straight but as I have always said, I love my job.   I'm very thankful that I was able to shift my thoughts away  just for a little while to shoot some beautiful spaces.

Always nice to shoot for Zoe Pawlak.  Her paintings are absolutely stunning ....... this one found a good home.  FYI, Zoe has an exhibition on this Thursday, January 24th 605-55 Water Street.

A beautiful space always puts a smile on my face.  Here is a peek into a shoot I did for Kirk Talent, designed by Lesa Kirk & Shannon Powell.
