Cool ..... Lights!

Hi everyone, how was your weekend? Mine was pretty busy with setting up for an art exhibition, a couple of shoots, of course some editing and even found some time to do a little salvaging... oh and got in some family too, ...... always needed. As some of you know, we are putting a bathroom upstairs and it's funny because we were looking for sconces but couldn't decide on the perfect pair. We ended up ordering some from Restoration Hardware, but we may just take them back because while I was salvaging, I came across these ......

So I ended up taking them home ..... they need to be rewired and cleaned up but other than that, they are friggin spectacular! Especially because we figured out that we needed ones that pointed down due to the lower ceiling.

I can't wait to show you the bathroom once it's all finished, here's a small peek of the tile work, yet to be grouted. Frankie approved .........

Talking about lighting, Robyn & Heidi from RVN Lighting had their very cool lights hanging over at The Fat Paint Co. I just couldn't resist taking some snaps. They repurpose old bowls, containers, lightbulbs ....... etc. rewire them and turn them into pretty lights. So talented!!!! I got to take home a little lightbulb with Sweet Peas inside ....... Way too cute!!!!!

They once were beautiful

As most of you know, I have a place in my heart for these heritage homes that are getting demolished in Vancouver, at an alarming rate.  I've learned that it's a matter of acceptance about where our city has decided to go, there are a lot of factors that go into the decision of keeping heritage in our city ~ I speak mostly of the homes and I understand where it's at.  HOWEVER just because it's out of my hands, I still can't sit there and watch it happen so I've teamed up with Caroline Adderson who has started a Facebook Page {Vancouver Vanishes}, please go to the page and "Like it".  Together we have decided to document the homes on the West side that are slated for demo, take pictures of both the interior and exterior of each home.  Most are ripped apart but you can still see the beauty left behind in others. Every once in awhile we find the coolest trinkets along the way, my find: an old toast holder and an adorable set of pink tea cups (a set of four)  These will do quite nicely in my collection, what else is there to do but make a batch of these Earl Grey cookies.  You can find the recipe {HERE}

My lovelies are gone ......

Ahhhh, it's so nice to sit back now that I am all rested up from the Fieldstone Vintage Market and look at everybody's beautiful photographs of the market. Rachel & Lily from Birch & Bird did a spectacular job on putting this market on and I am just so honored to have been part of a group of such inspirational ladies. I read about these people all the time, it was really cool to see what they do up and close. As for me, I really didn't know what people were going to think of my corbels as I dragged in my stuff on Friday afternoon for setup. But with a huge exhale, I am elated to say that my little lovelies have all found wonderful homes. Guess what? I'm out of corbels and have an itch to go look for more. I am addicted. This is a good thing .....yes?

I was able to leave my perch for only a few minutes to take some "quick" picks and buy a pillow over at Raggy Girl Vintage.
